Equity Statement

Statement from Camp Rosenbaum Fund Board of Directors

At Camp Rosenbaum, we are committed to creating a space where all kids and staff feel safe, respected, and supported. We recognize that racism, discrimination, and systemic violence have long affected Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color, as well as Jewish, Muslim, and LGBTQ2+ individuals, including the campers we serve. We acknowledge this harm—both historically and within our camp community—and take responsibility for repairing and preventing it.

Our commitment to equity is proactive and ongoing. We focus on centering our campers and staff’s voices and experiences, ensuring our policies, traditions, and programs reflect their needs. The Camp Rosenbaum Fund Board of Directors condemns systemic racism, violence, and oppression, and we pledge to take bold, intentional steps toward justice and inclusion. This includes diversifying our leadership, training on race, bias, and cultural responsiveness, and offering programs that promote positive character traits and community building.

We are proud to serve a diverse community and are dedicated to continuous learning and accountability. Above all, we prioritize the long-term well-being of children and marginalized people, creating a camp where everyone can thrive and feel valued. We stand for community and lasting positive change.
