For one week every Summer, the Oregon National Guardís Camp Rilea on the beautiful northern Oregon Coast is transformed into one of the most enjoyable places on earth. Here, 160 children are immersed in a week of positive activities with constant attention and supervision from caring and responsible adult counselors. It is a lively celebration, brimming with music, laughter and fun.
The boys and girls who attend Camp Rosenbaum come from the Housing Authorities of Portland, Salem, Yamhill County, Polk County, Washington County, Clackamas County, Lane County and Vancouver, Washington. Many consider these children at risk but in reality they are just terrific kids, like others their age, in many ways mature beyond their years. They simply come from economically disadvantaged communities that do not offer the kind of opportunities available to other children. One man wanted to do something special for them.

When the children board the buses for home tears flow freely from counselors and campers alike. For nearly all of the kids, it will be the only summer camp opportunity they will get during their youth. We do everything we can to ensure they have a week filled with positive memories that will last a lifetime.
